Hero Motocorp, has stepped beyond their contemporaries by launching a new iteration of their Popular commuter motorbike, the Super Splendor XTEC. While the update might seem like a subtle update, it incorporates a broader move to make the bike much more enticing for the younger generation. Beyond that, Hero might soon be planning to upgrade their overall appeal and change the overall looks of the vehicle.
The New XTEC super splendor, is essentially a super splendor with a few more added features and tech to make it more consumer friendly. The bike is still powered by a 124.7 cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine. However the engine is now OBD2B- compliant motor with the capability to churn out the same 10.8 Hp and 10.6 Nm of peak torque paired with a 4 speed gearbox.
Changes in the Exterior Design
The new Splendor has witnessed a slew of new changes, these include a new design, along with a LED headlight and a fully digital instrument cluster with advanced connectivity features such as a Bluetooth connectivity module. Beyond that most of the features of the bike are the same as that of a normal run of the mill Super Splendor. The telescopic suspension upfront along with rear twin shock absorbers, alloy wheels are all similar. Buyers would still get the option to choose between a Drum or a disc brake edition of the bike.
The Drum brake variant now starts at Rs 88,128 and the version with the front Disc Brake has been priced at a Rs 92,028 ex showroom. The new revised pricing showcases a rise of around 2,000 over the previous model.
These features and additions are a necessary effort to make the bike a much more formidable competitor against the likes of bikes such as TVS Raider 125 and other strong competitors in the space.
