After the recent price hike announcement from Suzuki, Tata and KIA, Hyundai has joined the suit as well. In a recent news update the brand has announced that they would be increasing the price of all their models up to 3% across its model lineup effective from April 2025.
Hyundai just like the others has cited the revision as a response to the rising costs of the inputs across its models. Increased operational expenses as well as commodity prices have led the brand to raise up the prices across variants. Brand officials spoke about how they have tried their best to absorb the rising costs and reduce the brunt of price rise from reaching the end consumer. But Sustained increases in the operational expense charges has led the brand to work out a price adjustment.
Honda To Raise Prices As Well
Beyond Others, Honda cars India has also shared plans to implement a price increase across its model ranges from April 2025. This has further added to the growing list of manufacturers who would be increasing the prices across variants.
Before Honda and Hyundai, Kia has announced a similar price hike decision, as per KIA the revision in prices would vary from .3% and 4.7% depending upon the model and variant. The reasons KIA cited were similar to that of the other manufacturers as well.
Maruti Suzuki as well as Tata had announced a similar price hike earlier, and with that they reported that despite their best efforts they have not been able to absorb the brunt of rising prices. A certain portion of the rising costs have to be diverted towards the users to help the brand survive better.
Reasons For Sudden Price Hikes
There were suspicions that other manufacturer would raise the prices since Maruti Suzuki and Tata had already announced that it would raise the prices from the next month, a few days back. Suzuki had shared plans to raise the prices by 4% overall. Car Manufacturers world over have been caught in a whirlwind of either going along with EV manufacturing or choosing to facelift their existing ICE models.
Beyond that the Indian manufacturers have been hit with strict safety changes such as necessity of 6 airbags for all car models under sale. This has already raised the prices of the cars, and beyond that the new changes would further change the prices as well. It would be fair to say that its possible other manufacturers might soon follow up to raise the prices as well.
