New Delhi: Kia Motors has launched its 2023 Seltos SUV in India. As a major change, its engine was updated to RDE and E20 fuel. But now only 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol and turbo diesel engines are available with the car, the turbo petrol engine has been dropped from the range. The ex-showroom price of this car starts from Rs. 10.89 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 19.65 lakhs.
Prices have risen
The HTE trim of the 2023 Kia Seltos is priced at Rs 10.89 lakh ex-showroom for the MT 1.5 NA petrol and Rs 12,39 lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 MT diesel. Its HTK 1.5 NA Petrol MT ex-showroom price is Rs. 12.00 lakhs, the 1.5 Diesel MT ex-showroom price is Rs. 13.69 million crowns. Whereas the price of 1.5 NA petrol MT with HTK+ trim ex-showroom is Rs. 13.10 lakh, the 1.5 Diesel MT ex-showroom price is Rs. 15.29 crores. The HTX trim is priced at Rs 14.90 Lakh ex-showroom for the 1.5 NA Petrol MT, 1.5 NA Petrol CVT at Rs 15.90 Lakh, 1.5 Diesel MT at Rs 16.59 Lakh, 1.5 Diesel AT at Rs 17 .59 Lakh Rs. Its 1.5 diesel MT in HTX+ trim costs Rs. 17.59 million crowns. While the 1.5 diesel AT its GTX+ and X Line trims are priced at Rs 19.35 lakh and Rs 19.65 lakh respectively.
The price of its base variant has increased by ₹20,000, while all other petrol variants have increased by ₹25,000 and all diesel variants by ₹50,000.

2023 Kia Seltos Powertrains
The Seltos is now available with only two engine variants, the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol generating 115 PS/144 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel generating 116 PS/250 Nm. The diesel engine now gets a 6-speed iMT gearbox instead of the 6-speed manual gearbox, along with a 6-speed automatic torque converter. Its NA petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission option. Other than that, no other changes have been made to this car.
A turbo petrol engine will be available later
The company will add a turbo petrol engine option to the Seltos later and customers may have to wait longer for it. The Seltos gets a new 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that generates 160 horsepower. The same engine is also found in Alcazar and Carens. You will probably find this new engine in the facelifted version of this car.

Who is there competition with?
The Seltos competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Skoda Kushaq in the Indian market. The Hyundai Creta gets the same power unit as the Seltos, as well as being almost identical to the Seltos in terms of other features and price.
