A slew of recent reports have revealed that, Mahindra is planning to showcase a new platform for its future products on August 15th. The new platform would be called the NFA platform( New Flexible Platform). The new platform would be used as Mahindra sees fit, it’s possible that it might be a new EV platform that would help the brand spawn a series of new EV’s soon. Freedom Nu might be the moniker of the new Platform as indicated by a recent taser that went live over social media.
Since the teaser incorporates the logo of both the EV and the ICE variant of the brand it seems that the new platform would be able to accommodate both EV and ICE variants. Since the brand has been working on a new Bolero it’s possible that the new platform might underpin the Bolero as well.
New Vehicles that the Platform Can Underpin
The test mule spotted testing revealed that Mahindra has been developing an all new XUV700 variant and a Mahindra Bolero variant as well. Its possible that the Bolero might be positioned on the NFA or Freedom Nu platform. This would be a monocoque platform that is rumoured to debut with the new Bolero that would be launched some time in 2026 or beyond.
While Mahindra has kept most of the details a secret its possible that Mahindra might be planning a Hybrid powertrains. Mahindra implementation is speculated to a range of new extender type vehicles with PHEV and not a self charging ( Strong Hybrid). PHEV’s would be able to bridge the gap between ICE and EV’s and Mahindra will be the first automaker to make the PHEV’s mainstream. All would be revealed soon on 15th of july.
