With the overall increase in the highway speed limits and better infrastructure vehicle safety protocols have become a prime necessity. Being receptive of the same situation Suzuki has now equipped its new Alto K10 with 6 airbags as standard. The Alto K10 would be one of the first vehicles that would offer such expansive safety features in its segment.
New Safety Features
Along with the 6 air bags the car would have other safety features a well such as a three point rear center seatbelt. Beyond that the car would have improved safety in the rear as well with luggage retention crossbars. Alto would also feature the presence of ESP- Electronic Stability Program as well as anti lock brakes- ABS.
Suzuki had recently equipped its Suzuki Celerio with six airbags. Beyond the addition of the airbags the car offers various powertrain options, which include a CNG model with automatic and manual transmission.
Pricing Update For The Alto
The prices of the variants have been revised as per a recent press release the new standard variant would be priced at Rs 4,23,000 and the top end VXI+ AGS would cost around Rs6,09,500- the overall increase has been that of around Rs 16,000.
The mid sec and lower end variants make sense, customers preference for a 6,00,000 Rs Alto still seems dubious. The 6,00,00 Rs price tag of the mid high end model puts it into a category where it would have to compete with the likes of others such as the Swift lxi. Which starts at Rs 6,50,000 ex showroom Delhi. Although the swift would be much more expensive on road but its capabilities would by far exceed that of the Suzuki Alto. The choice depends on whether the users opt for better performance or a feature rich driving experience as the base model Swift might skip on a few features?
