Tata has been continuously testing their new Harrier EV to be ready of the expected launch of the vehicle soon. In a recent news the Harrier EV was seen being driven around on a highway. It was spotted by RushLane. The video showcases the rear suspension set up of the vehicle and a few more details , Here is everything you need to know.
Harrier EV
Test cars are often witnessed while being tested on the highways similar was the case when a new sighting of the Harrier occurred. As alleged the new EV version of the Tata Harrier EV would possibly have a AWD system that would give it a lot more performance credentials than the outgoing model.
Tata has a unique EV architecture that allows them to mount the battery packs down low in the car chassis giving the vehicle a low center of gravity. Such a low center of gravity helps the vehicle perform better and have a balanced drive. The low center of gravity along with the instantaneous torque of the EV motors would give the car the ability to function well.
Tata Harrier EV Dual Motor Setup
The performance spec of the vehicle is expected to be quite higher than any existing Harrier. Tata has been planning to launch a significant competitor to any of the EV’s currently available in the market. As per speculations the car would be able to go against the likes of XEV9e which boasts a performance spec of around 268 PS and 380 NM of Torque. The XEV 9 only has a single motor that powers the rear wheels.
Along with a powerful dual motor setup the vehicle would be provided with a sophisticated multilink suspension in the rear along with a MacPherson Strutt in the front. Tata has imagined to provide the market with a vehicle like no other. As per the speculated news it has also been established that the vehicle would have new sophisticated terrain response system with upto six modes this time around.
New Terrain Response System And Modes
The vehicle would have new rotary dial to choose between different terrain response systems and other modes that would allow the vehicle the easily drive along some of the most toughest terrains. The vehicle would have modes such as Normal, Snow, Mud&Ruts and Sand and Desert.
Tata Harrier EV New Suspension Details
As per the new leaks it has become apparent that the new Harrier EV would have a independent multilink rear suspension with a stabilizer. But how Tata would be able to equip a motor with this suspension is still a mystery. As generally in such suspensions when a rear motor is placed a rigid axle stretches from one side to the other which was missing. More details would surely follow with the launch of the vehicle.
Adaptive Suspension
As per the new details that have come forward its has become apparent that the vehicle might have active damping. This means that the dampers used would be able to change their rebound and compression settings actively. This is a sophisticated feature that might be made available in the top end variants only.
Conclusion
The vehicle would be launched soon after the testing is complete, or its possible that Tata might showcase a teaser or a trailer soon via their official pages to tease the launch of the new Harrier EV.
