7th pay commission: There is again good news coming in way for the Central Government’s employees and retirees. It is expected that the government would increase DA/DR in July. The Centre has already given DA rise in March and it was implemented from January 1, 2023. According to recent media reports, the government may increase employees’ dearness allowance by 4%.
The minimum basic salary of employees is expected to increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000 following the increase in the fitment factor, according to the reports.
7th pay commission: How much DA and DR will be hiked?
The present calculation shows that if your minimum basic salary is Rs 18,000 then it will be hiked by Rs 720. Therefore, total Rs 8,640 will increase every year.
If your basic monthly income is Rs 56,900, then your salary will be hiked by Rs 2,276 after the DA rise of 4% in July. Therefore, total salary will be increased by Rs 27,312 every year.
Many states have declared increase in the DA rate for the upcoming fiscal year beginning on April 1. In these states, salaries are given to employees in accordance with the 7th Pay Commission’s latest recommendations. Here is details of states which have announced DA hikes in the last 60 days of the new financial year.
Karnataka:
The Karnataka government hiked DA rate by 4% for employees. The total DA reached to 35% from 31%. A new DA hike will be implemented in effect from January 1, 2023. The dearness relief (DR) rate for retirees has also been raised by the state government from 31% to 35%.
Tamil Nadu:
The Tamil Nadu government also increased the DA and DR by 4%. The new rate of DA will take effect from April 1, 2023. The DA and DR are increased from 38 to 42 per cent.
Uttar Pradesh:
The UP government also increased DA/DR for government employees and pensioners by 4%. Earlier it was 38%. Now, employees will get 42 per cent DA/DR after the hike.
Haryana:
Haryana government employees will get 42 % DA and DR hike under the latest modification of 7th Pay Commission. The DA was raised as early as in April. The announcement was made in April.
