What’s Ayushman Vay Vandana Card?
The Ayushman Vay Vandana Card is launched with the aim of providing all senior citizens healthcare services irrespective of status. The Card will help Senior Citizens to avail healthcare benefits without much paperwork. The card offers treatment for around 2000 medical procedures. Additionally it covers all pre-existing diseases from the first day itself without any waiting period.
Treatments worth more than Rs 40 crore have been availed since the launch of card claims the government. Additionally this resulted in the benefitting of more than 22000 senior citizens aged 70 years and above. As per the ministry, the card has already benefitted over 4,800 senior citizens, including more than 1,400 women. Notably. the eligible applicants can apply online or through the mobile app in just 15 minutes to access free hospital treatment.
The senior citizens of the age 70 years and above belonging to families already covered under AB PM-JAY get an additional top-up cover of up to ₹5 lahks per year. Additionally, persons covered by private health insurance coverage or members of the Employees’ State Insurance scheme are eligible to benefit from AB PM-JAY.
Senior citizens have taken treatment for various conditions such as Coronary Angioplasty, Hip fracture/replacement, and Gall bladder removal. Furthermore, card services have been used for Cataract Surgery, prostate resection, Stroke, hemodialysis, enteric fever, and other febrile illness etc.
Application Procedure
Given below are some steps that individuals eligible to receive the card can follow to request for the same.
1: Download the Ayushman App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2: Open the app and select the “Login as Beneficiary” option.
3: Enter the captcha, mobile number, choose the mode of authentication, re-enter the captcha, and click “Login.”
4: Fill in beneficiary details, including Aadhaar information; if not found, complete eKYC by consenting to OTP.
5: Provide declarations, capture your photo, and fill in additional application details as required.
6: After approval and eKYC completion, download the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card from the app.
