New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day celebration. In a 90-minute long speech, he talked about some schemes too.
The PM announced to initiation of the ‘Vishvakarma Scheme’ worth 15 thousand crore rupees and, vowed to create 2 crores ‘Lakhpati Didi’, and a low-interest scheme for those who want to build their home in cities.

what is Vishwakarma scheme?
Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana will be initiated on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti in September to provide financial assistance to the small workers and artisans of the country. Under the scheme, they will be given help from loans to training, and information about advanced techniques and skills. Small workers, artisans, and cultivators will get a chance to connect with MSME and learn about the technique and other essential skills.
who will benefit?
The government has a plan to invest Rs 13,000 to 15,000 crores in Vishwakarma Yojana. Business assistance will be given to the people who have traditional businesses like goldsmiths, blacksmiths, hairdressers, washermen, masons, and vendors.
PM Modi said that with the Vishwakarma Yojana, every Vishwakarma will be given institutional support for traditional businesses, with the help of which they can improve their standard of living. Mostly, workers from OBC class would be benefited from it.
Interest subvention scheme for home builders in cities
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech announced that the Central Government is coming up with a new scheme for families living in cities who dream of their own homes. He said the government has decided to give relief of lakhs in home loan interest to those who live in cities or in rented houses, slums, and chawls. The Scheme will give relief in the interest of loans to get their own housing. However, the details of this scheme will be revealed later.
