In Comparison To Other Matches

When comparing the viewership of the India vs. New Zealand final to the India-Pakistan match earlier in the tournament, yesterday’s game saw significantly higher numbers.

The India-Pakistan clash garnered 60 crore views, while India’s match against New Zealand soared to 90 crore views on the streaming platform, setting a new benchmark.

Analyzing the viewership graph, the numbers spiked dramatically as India launched its 252-run chase with a strong start. However, New Zealand’s innings also kept viewers hooked. The Kiwis had won the toss and chosen to bat in Sunday’s final.

View Analysis

According to a Moneycontrol report, As New Zealand’s innings neared its end, viewership soared to 39.7 crore. The Kiwis, who patiently built their innings, managed to put up 251 runs on the board before India’s bowlers tightened their grip. Kuldeep Yadav delivered a sensational spell, taking down Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra, while Varun Chakaravarthy continued his impressive form, playing a crucial role in India’s disciplined bowling attack. However, views on the over the top (OTT) platform are not unique and include multiple views by the same person.

Concurrent Viewers And Total Views

As India began their run chase, captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill provided a solid start. Known as the “Hitman,” Sharma aggressively attacked the Kiwi bowlers. However, Gill’s dismissal, followed shortly by Virat Kohli’s wicket, created tense moments, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

The excitement peaked in the 44th over when India needed 40 runs from 36 balls. As KL Rahul smashed a crucial six, viewership surged to 78.5 crore.

However, as wickets started falling, there was a slight dip in viewership. But Hardik Pandya’s resilience kept India in the hunt, drawing fans back. The numbers climbed to 79.6 crore and later surged to an impressive 84.5 crore, reflecting the high-stakes drama of the match.

Concurrent Viewers (Peak Live Audience)

The number of people watching a live event at the same time (simultaneously). It shows the peak moment of audience engagement during the live broadcast. If a cricket match reaches 6.1 crore concurrent viewers, it means that at one specific moment, 6.1 crore people were watching the match simultaneously.

Total Views (Cumulative Audience)

The total number of people who watched the event at any time during the broadcast. This includes people who joined, left, and rejoined. It represents the overall reach of the event over its entire duration. If a match has 90 crore total views, it means that 90 crore people tuned in at some point, but they were not all watching at the same time.
