Rajasthan: A minor girl from Chittorgarh 2-and-a-half years old got raped and murdered. Chittorgarh’s POCSO court has given a death sentence to the accused.
The matter was resolved within nine days of the incident. Public Prosecutor Shobha Lal Jat said that in POCSO Court No. 1, the Presiding Officer heard the entire case. The court has convicted the accused, Ramesh Dhakad, and sentenced him under different sections, besides imposing a fine of Rs 17,000 on the accused.

About the incident
Public Prosecutor Shobha Lal Jat said that on April 21, 2022, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl had come to a wedding ceremony with her mother in a village in the Bassi police station area. Ramesh’s son Nanuram Dhakad resident of Kishanpura, Bigod was also presented at the marriage. He tried to commit a misdemeanour by picking up a small child in a drunken state. He was released when the child started crying. After this, the two-and-a-half-year-old girl was picked up and taken away. The girl was raped by taking her to an isolated place, strangulating her, and throwing her into a well.
As soon as the court pronounced its verdict, the child’s father started crying. He said that today my daughter has gotten justice, and he was satisfied with the decision. Although my daughter will never come back, she will always be missed. This is a historic decision; this will keep fear among the rapists.
