New Delhi: In a bizarre incident in Gurugram, an air hostess died at a private hospital after a dentist treated her for viganial bleeding leading to her death. A air hostess was admitted to the hospital owing to her bleeding for mergency but instead of gynaecologist, she was treated by a dentist on June 24, last year.

The Union Home Ministry, in a statement, informed that the air hostess, Rosy Sangma, died due to medical negligence. Afterwards, it handed over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to launch an inquiry.

The CBI booked the two doctors — Managing Director of Alfa Health Care Dr Anuj Bisnoi and dentist Anjali Ashk– in the matter. The duo was charged under Section 304 (death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

The probe agency stressed upon that “gross negligence of the hospital” saying that a patient of severe vaginal bleeding was by a dentist who was no qualified to deal the matter.

In the preliminary investigation, the police found that Rosy was admitted to hospital on complaining of severe pain on June 24. After which, Ashk, the dentist, was deputed to her as the main doctor, Bishnoi, was running four and half an hour late.

Bishnoi asked the kin of the deceased to bring blood on rgent basis at 10.45 AM. The patient, who was in a critical state, had passed away, according to a letter Bisnoi snet to the SHO of the Bijwasan police station.

Later, he provided the police with further information in which he claimed that she was not responding to the medication and that foul play and suspected poisoning were the causes of her death.

He informed that the patient was being referred to civil hospital for further treatment.

“The said information is carbon copy but the time 1.30 PM is mentioned in original blue ink,” the news agency PTI quoted CBI.

Rosy’s discharge card was created by Bisnoi, who noted her admittance time as 6 AM, referral time as 12 PM, blood transfusion, serious condition, gasping patient, and reference to higher centre. However, according to the CBI, Bisnoi “did not refer” Rosy to any facility for additional care.

In response to a complaint made by MP Agatha Sangma to Home Minister Amit Shah last year, the Home Ministry instructed the CBI to look into the strange murders of Rosy and her nephew Samuel, both from Nagaland’s Dimapur.

The deceased’s family claims that Rosy died as a result of hospital malpractice.

The home ministry statement had also claimed that Samuel’s death was caused by intentional misconduct on the part of medical staff.

Agatha Sangma detailed in her letter to Shah how Rosy had complained of a medical ailment, was sent to the hospital for treatment, and then passed away there. The MP added that Samuel had filed a complaint about the circumstances surrounding his aunt’s passing and claimed that the hospital had engaged in medical malpractice.
