Delhi Police will be deployed from petrol pump number 1 to 100. 59 special teams of the Transport Department will monitor pump numbers 101 to 159. Two policemen will be present at every pump to maintain law and order. The traffic police will have the right to seize old vehicles or challan their owners.

As per the SOP (standard operating procedure), All petrol pumps will have to maintain a digital or manual register of cases of refusal to give fuel to such vehicles.

ANPR camera systems will be installed at all pumps, which will scan the number plates of vehicles and display their information immediately. The responsibility for this has been entrusted to DTIDC.

Strict Penalties

The information of pumps that do not follow the rules will be sent to CAQM and the Petroleum Ministry every week. Violators will be fined under Section 192 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The Supreme Court had banned 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles in Delhi in 2018. In 2014, the NGT had also banned parking of 15-year-old vehicles in public places.
