Delhi Pollution: AQI Deteriorates To ‘Very Poor’, Expected To Breach 400 Mark

Restrictions put in place under GRAP Stage III include non-essential construction, diesel general sets & demolition activities, curb on burning practices, clampdown on operation of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles, etc.

Delhi Pollution: The air quality in the national capital slipped into the ‘very poor’ category again, marking a sharp rise from the previous days. The AQI was recorded as 381 at 6 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). In view of the plummeting pollution levels, after Delhi reached an alarming AQI on Wednesday, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has invoked all measures under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) with immediate effect. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts partly cloudy weather across the city till the 1st of February. The AQI is further expected to breach the 400 mark, falling into the ‘severe’ category in the coming days.

Restrictions Under GRAP Stage III

Despite a significant improvement in air quality earlier, recent weather conditions have contributed to the decline in AQI.
