Delhi Pollution: AQI Remains ‘Moderate,’ But Cold Lingers – What’s Ahead For The Capital?

While there has been a change in the AQI levels, cold weather persists in the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the minimum temperature to drop to 7 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Air quality in the national capital has improved significantly, with the AQI in the ‘moderate’ category. The AQI was recorded at 188 on Sunday at 6 a.m., according to the CPCB. This marks the second consecutive day this week that the AQI has remained in the ‘moderate’ category. The improvement in air quality has been attributed to favorable meteorological conditions. Light rain lashed Delhi on Wednesday and Thursday morning, bringing down the deteriorating pollution levels. In the past week, the AQI fluctuated between the ‘very poor’ and ‘poor’ categories. However, slight changes in the weather pattern have brought relief to residents from the toxic air pollution levels.
