Delhi Pollution: AQI Remains ‘Very Poor’, City Braces For Rain – Will Residents Find Respite?

Delhi is currently enduring a persistent chill, making the colder months even more challenging for residents. Amid the biting chill, many people have taken refuge in night-shelter homes to escape the cold.

Delhi Pollution: The city, often struggling with pollution during winter, is seeing a sharp rise in the Air Quality Index due to unfavorable meteorological conditions. As Delhi/NCR continues to grapple with hazardous air quality, the national capital recorded a ‘very poor’ AQI rising to 350 at 6 am on Friday. To combat the growing pollution levels, the Centre’s panel on air quality on Wednesday invoked Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Delhi Braces For Rain

Residents of Delhi may experience some respite from adverse weather conditions as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts rain on February 3, 2025. There is a high chance that rain will likely clear the air and improve visibility across the city. However, as pollution levels continue to soar in Delhi, further deterioration in AQI is expected in the national capital in the coming days.
