A robbery case has been reported from the Vasant Kunj South area, raising concerns over safety in the capital in the capital’s upscale localities. The incident came to light on June 23, when a complaint was received at the Vasant Kunj South police station. Acting swiftly on the information, the SHO along with his team rushed to the location.
The complainant, Karan Chopra, who is associated with the city gas distribution business, stated that during the evening hours of June 23, a group of three to four unidentified individuals forcefully entered his residence, a farmhouse located in the area. The intruders allegedly looted around ₹30 lakh in cash and fled the scene before they could be caught or identified.
Given the high-value nature of the robbery, a special crime team was also summoned to the spot. A detailed forensic investigation of the house was conducted to collect evidence that could assist in identifying the culprits.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under multiple sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 309(4), 331(6), 351(2), and 3(5). Police officials confirmed that a few suspects have already been identified, and efforts are underway to track down the others involved in the crime.
The investigation is being carried out from all possible angles. Authorities have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
