Delhi’s weather has been experiencing a lot of changes with temperatures going up and down quickly. Last week, on February 27, the temperature was nearly 20°C, but by March 5, it dropped below 10°C in places like Palam.

This sudden cold is because of strong winds from the west, blowing at speeds of up to 40 km/h. These winds are bringing cold air from the Himalayas, where there was heavy snowfall. The cold weather will last until March 6, and after that, temperatures will begin to rise again.

In the last week of February, Delhi was already feeling the heat of early summer. On February 26, the city recorded its highest temperature of the season at 32.4°C.

The next day, a western disturbance caused the temperature to drop suddenly. The maximum temperature fell by more than 7°C, and the minimum temperature, which had been unusually high at 19.5°C, also started to go down.

By March 3, the temperature had dropped to 9.6°C, a fall of 10°C in just four days. At the same time, daytime temperatures were still high, reaching 31.1°C, making the difference between day and night more than 21°C.

March usually marks the beginning of summer, and weather experts say temperatures will be higher than normal this year. While the cold weather isn’t completely gone, warmer days are coming.

By March 10, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C, with nighttime temperatures around 18°C. With Holi coming up, Delhi is about to experience full summer weather.
