Delhi Weather Update: IMD Warns Of Thunderstorms, Issues Yellow Alert! Check Forecast For Next 3 Days

Delhi Weather Update: The western disturbance, which lies as a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and neighbouring areas has brought significant changes to Delhi’s weather. There has been a significant drop in maximum temperatures, while strong winds and cloudy skies have provided relief from the scorching heat. Delhi experienced much-needed respite from intense heatwave conditions after rain lashed the national capital on Tuesday. Since then, the weather in Delhi has been relatively pleasant. The maximum temperatures are currently in the range of 33-34°C.

Weather Forecast For Thursday, June 19

For Thursday, June 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rainy day. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature at 34°C. Light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (40-50kmph) is expected during evening. During night – thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, and moderate to heavy rainfall is expected. The IMD has issued a yellow alert of rainfall for today.

Check Forecast For Next 3 Days

Delhi residents are going to experience extended relief, as the rainfall will continue throughout the week. The remainder days of the week will see pleasant weather conditions.

June 20: Rain and Thundershowers are expected on Friday. The maximum temperature will remain at 36°C. Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) is predicted during evening. A yellow alert for moderate rain has been issued by the IMD.

June 21: The maximum temperature will remain at 37°C, with rain and thunderstorm predicted for the day. Rain will continue to lash the capital during morning, forenoon and evening.

June 22: Rain or Thundershowers is expected. The maximum temperature will remain at 38°C. Partly cloudy sky and gusty winds are predicted. A yellow alert for light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm has been issued.

Monsoon Update

According to the IMD, southwest Monsoon has further advanced over some more parts of North Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Gujarat, some parts of Rajasthan, some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, some parts of East Uttar Pradesh, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, and some more parts of Bihar.

It added that conditions are favourable for advance of monsoon over remaining parts of North Arabian Sea, some more parts of Rajasthan, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, some more parts of Uttar Pradesh and remaining parts of Bihar, some parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir during next 2-3 days.
