Reported By Junaid Akhtar
Noida: Investigations into the properties of Waqf Board have begun following the smooth passage of the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha and 24-hours-later in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. According to News24 reporter Junaid Akhtar, the Waqf Board in Gautam Buddha Nagar officially has 7.37 acres of registered land. Meanwhile, District Minority Welfare Officer Yukti Pandey noted that there are a total of 41 Waqf properties in the district – 26 Sunni and 15 Shia Waqf properties.
Administration To Conduct A Survey Again
Pandey further confirmed that the data was collected last year during the month of September and October. On the other hand, the data obtained from the Waqf Assets Management System of India (WAMSI) revealed that there are a total of 208 Waqf properties in the district. In light of this broader difference, the administration will now conduct a survey on the Waqf properties again.
Investigation And Review
Different activities are being conducted on the above-mentioned properties of Waqf Board that include agriculture, running of commercial shops and construction of religious places. At the same time, there is a lot of difference between the data recorded in the Waqf Board’s official website and government records.
Noida Police On High Alert
After the Waqf Bill was passed in the Parliament, Noida Police is on high alert mode. DCPs of three zones are currently carrying out patrolling. Additionally, the authorities have urged people to maintain peace after holding high-profile meeting with religious leaders.
