Noida: The young people who left home with dreams of a good life turned into big thugs, they themselves did not know. After the appointment, the young men and women working at the call centre located in Sector 6 of Noida city received the script and trained for two days. Then he was put to work.
Before long, they became global thugs.
The call center just opened 4 months ago in Sector 6 of Noida to conduct scam business internationally. Most of the staff are recruited from the northeastern states of Manipur and Nagaland.
A police investigation revealed that the call center had only 25 employees at first. All are fluent in English and trained to speak as fluently as Americans.
One of the employees testified that he was one of the first to become a call center director. Initially, he received a salary of around Rs 60,000 per month but as the incentives increased, he started earning up to Rs 20,000.
A senior police officer involved in the investigation said Vivek Kumar, the employee, himself was advertising on various social media platforms looking for candidates who are fluent in English. He hired most of his staff from the Northeast states to make them sound like Americans.
Ringthang Bo, 25, of Manipur, told police he worked at several call centers in Delhi-NCR before joining Vivek Kumar’s team. He just got here three months ago. He received a salary of Rs 35,000.
Bo joined the group along with his friend Martms Bai Kee Chu, 25, who was paid Rs 32,000 a month. Police said the two were providing English training for the new arrivals. Show them how to talk to the “customer”.
Police said Sophia, 34, a graduate of Nagaland, worked at a call center in Gurgaon who came to Noida two months ago to work at a call center.
According to police, none of the call center employees tried to alert the police or quit their jobs when they learned of the scam. It was their greed for money, or perhaps his need, that forced him to work.
