Mumbai: Gujarat’s Navsari continues to be one of the worst-affected district by the incessant rains in the state. Meanwhile, the state government has issued a Red alert in the state, owing to the devastating situation.

Since last night, the city recorded 12 inches of rain with the low lying residential areas were seen flooded. Along with Navasari, the rain also lashed out in a nearby district Dang due to which, all the three rivers Purna, Ambika and Kaveri overflowed their limits.

The situation in Navsari is flood-like and it is feared to cause more problems as the rains are not stopping but constantly lashing out.

Maharashtra Weather

The problem is similar in Maharashtra where a Red alert has been issue in the state capital. The state has been witnessing stormy rains in almost all parts of the state, causing immense trouble by disturbing daily lives of lcoals. Due to the heavy rains in Maharashtra, people are left with no choice but travel through the troubles to work or forced to choose work from home.

The burn of the heavy rains could be seen in the low-lying or sub-urbs areas that are flooded immensely, leaving the roads waterlogged and the roof leaking.

Schools, colleges closed in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar 

Areas like Palghar, a suburb of Mumbai and Thane were seen flooded and roads were submerged. Owing to the situation, the state administration announced to close schools in  Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for today. The lockdown on schools is expected to extend due to the incessant rains.

Several districts of Maharashtra like Virbha and Konkan witnessed higher rain intesnity. The situation forced the weather department to issue alerts. Rescue operations have been on in the state to help locals reach safer places.

Meanwhile in Konkan, Raigad and Ratnagiri, an orange alert has been issued with a warning of thunderstorms. The administration, earlier, issued yellow alert for Pune, Amravati, Kolhapur, Vidarbha’s Akola, Chandrapur, Buldhana, Nagpur, Gadchiroli Wardha,Yavatmal and Washim districts.
