The incident came to light when a video of the act emerged on social media, prompting swift action from the authorities.

Sanjay Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Hafizganj, confirmed that three individuals named Devendra (22), Rizwan (23), and Aamir (21) were taken into custody on Saturday. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the other two suspects, Bhagwat Sharan and Zeeshan.

In the disturbing video, Sharan, a resident of Inayatpur village in Nawabganj, is seen engaged in unnatural activity with the mare, while Zeeshan is holding the animal’s reins, according to the SHO. The other three accused are also observed in close proximity to Sharan in the video.

The SHO disclosed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against all five individuals, charging them under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The unsettling video with the animal cruelty is doing rounds on the internet, attracting severe criticism. The police has initiated the probe already. Further details awaited.
