Mumbai: A New York-bound Air India flight returned to Mumbai after a potential security threat was detected mid-air on Monday. Air India Spokesperson informed that a security threat was detected mid-flight on AI119 operating Mumbai-New York (JFK) today. The flight has returned to Mumbai after following necessary protocols. The decision was taken in the interest of the safety and security of the passengers and crew.
The Spokesperson further stated that the flight landed back safely in Mumbai at 10:25 am. The aircraft is undergoing mandatory checks by security agencies. The Airline is extending its full cooperation to the authorities, added the Air India Spokesperson.
Air India Spokesperson said, “A potential security threat was detected mid-flight on AI119 operating Mumbai-New York (JFK) today, 10 March 2025. After following the necessary protocols, the flight air-returned to Mumbai, in the interest of the safety and security of all on board. The flight landed safely back in Mumbai at 1025 Hrs (local time). The aircraft is undergoing mandatory checks by security agencies, and Air India is extending its full cooperation to the authorities…”
