Mumbai: In a shocking incident reported from Mumbai, a 37-year-old man allegedly raped a married woman on multiple occasions and blackmailed her using obscene videos. The rape which continued for nearly three years came to light after the victim along with her husband reached Kurar police station to report the incident.
Accused Extorted Jewelry And Gold Worth Lakhs
According to reports, the accused, who is now absconding, extorted jewelry and cash from the woman worth lakhs. Police stated that the man had a criminal record in the past, involving five to six cases. Meanwhile, it has been learnt that last year, he had filmed the victim while she was taking a bath.
Case Registered At Kurar Police Station
When she lodged a molestation complaint against him with the police, he allegedly framed her husband in a mobile theft case. He even threatened the woman to make her videos go viral and sexually assaulted her between 2022 and 2025. When her husband realized that she was drawing large amounts of fund from the household, she finally confided in him. A case of rape was filed at the Kurar police station on June 28.
Maharashtra Woman Gagged And Raped In Hotel Room
In yet another recent incident reported from Jammu and Kashmir, a 70-year-old widow was allegedly raped by a man lesser age than her son. The woman, a native of Maharashtra, had gone to Pahalgam with her son to experience the picturesque beauty of Kashmir. When she was in her hotel room alone, the accused reportedly entered, covered her mouth with a blanket, and sexually assaulted her.
Medical reports revealed the gravity of the brutal offense. The accused had sought bail, alleging that he was falsely implicated in the case due to a personal hostility between the police and his family. The court has rejected his bail application on the grounds that the victim’s allegations were grave and cannot be turned a blind eye to.
