You must have seen and heard many examples of the extent to which online games addiction can cause harm. This addiction is now becoming more dangerous than any drug. In many cases, people from the youth to the elderly have lost everything, lakhs of rupees, property and dreams. A recent incident from Radhanagari tehsil of Kolhapur district of Maharashtra is another shocking example of this.

Here, an ordinary farmer had saved Rs 7 lakhs through years of hard work so that he could buy buffaloes and start a milk business. But his dream was shattered when his son, who was studying in class 6, unknowingly spent about Rs 5 lakh through a payment app while playing a mobile game called ‘Free Fire’. As soon as the farmer received the message of money being deducted from the bank, he got the biggest shock of his life.
