Noida: District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has issued a high alert for 72 hours due to rains in the mountains and floods in Gautam Buddha Nagar.

He said, “No one should try to bathe in flood water or try to take selfies with flood water. It can be fatal. According to the intention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, This high alert has been issued to keep the people safe from the problem of flooding in the district.”

Appealing through video, DM Manish Kumar Verma said that the water level of the Yamuna River has reduced, but according to the information provided by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the next 72 hours. Due to this the water level of the Yamuna and Hindon rivers may increase. Because of this, high alert will continue in the district for the next 72 hours.

Apart from this, some people try to take selfies with flood water, which can also lead to loss of life. That’s why they are as far away from floodwater as possible. Apart from the district administration and police, teams of the NDRF are engaged in the flood-affected areas and are constantly warning people and appealing to them not to go near the water.

Recently, two youths living in a village located in the Dankaur Kotwali area had gone to bathe in the flood waters, but they were swept away by the strong current. The bodies of both were found by the NDRF team after about 24 hours on Monday morning. Apart from this, a couple in Maharashtra was trying to take a selfie with the sea waves, but both the husband and wife were swept away by the strong current of water.
