Akola SP Sandeep Ghuge said that tension prevailed between the two communities because of hurting religious sentiments. Stones were pelted, and vehicles were also damaged. A heavy police force is deployed in the city. One was brought dead to the civil hospital, but we are probing it.

It is being told that a large number of groups took to the streets in the Harihar Peth, Pola Chowk, and Jai Hind Chowk areas of the old city. They targeted bikes and autorickshaws and caused heavy damage.
