One of the most anticipated Hindi movies ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ starrer Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh is finally releasing in theatres on June 20, 2025 and the pre-booking is officially made open. Genelia announced it on social media, and fans were thrilled.
In the video uploaded by Zee Media on Instagram, the actress can be seen talking about the movie. The caption said: “Sitaare sirf zameen par nahi, screen par bhi chamkenge! Advance bookings are OPEN! Your date with Sitaare is waiting.”
The movie that will be literally a spiritual extension of Taare Zameen Par, is a heartwarming comedy of love, laughter and happiness which is showcased beautifully in its trailer.
Several days after the murmurs of a hold up, Sitaare Zameen Par have now obtained sanction by the Central Board of film certification (CBFC). The changes proposed by the Examining Committee of the CBFC apparently did not suit Aamir Khan. Consequently, Revising Committee (RC), presided by Vaman Kendre, watched the film once again on June 16.
As it is reported by the Bollywood Hungama, some modifications were made by the Revising Committee: It removed the term business woman replacing it with business person, a reference to Michael Jackson was substituted to Lovebirds, an image of the word Kamal was cleared and deleted and instead of the word lotus, this was overwritten, the new voiceover disclaimer was added and an old one moved to the trash, after the disclaimer in the opening, a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was included.
The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and it is the first film to be released under the label that introduces 10 fresh faces: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The film, which is directed by R. S. Prasanna, a director whose previous directorial effort was the highly acclaimed movie Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, is one of the largest collaborations in his career so far.
New talents play along with Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh who are the lead characters in the film. Amitabh Bhattacharya has written lyrics and music is created by trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Divy Nidhi Sharma is the writer of the screenplay.
Sitaare Zameen Par is the production of Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit and B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka are also producers.
The movie is going to come to theatres only on June 20, 2025.
