The Heri Pheri franchise has taken a new turn after Paresh Rawal announced his sudden exit from its third part. Fans were on cloud nine as the original trio Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty were returning. It was reported that the actors have also started shooting for the film. After Paresh’s sudden exit, film’s director Priyadarshan revealed Paresh, Akshay and Suniel had already shot a scene and a teaser.
While speaking to Mid-Day, he shared, “All our contracts were signed. Ten days ago, Suniel, Akshay, and Paresh shot a scene and the IPL [Indian Premier League] teaser. It was only after we unanimously agreed to do Hera Pheri 3 that Akshay bought the franchise’s rights.”
He added, “Akshay had tears in his eyes when he asked me, ‘Priyan, why is Paresh doing this to us?’ Akshay shouldn’t suffer financial losses because Paresh walked out on a whim. I understand that he will have to take whatever action is required.”
Akshay Kumar has reportedly decided to sue Paresh Rawal for the damages caused by his sudden exit in Hera Pheri 3. The reports suggest that Akshay Kumar’s production house Cape Of Good Films has sent a legal notice to actor Paresh Rawal claiming 25 crores in damages for his unprofessional conduct and exiting the movie after signing a legal contract and beginning the shoot. For the unversed, Akshay is the producer of Hera Pheri 3 and legally bought the rights for it from producer Feroz Nadiadwala.
A source was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times, “Paresh displayed a blatant disregard for professional integrity or commercial morality. If he wanted to not do the film, he should have said so before signing the legal contract, accepting the signing amount and making the producer spend so much money on the shoot.”
“It is high time Bollywood actors realise that like Hollywood, producers here too will no longer give in to the whims of an actor walking in and out of a film as he pleases,” the source further added.
