As per reports by Hindustan Times, sources from the unit of the film indicate that Akshaye has been hired for a crucial character which will not just be vital for Mahakali but also the entire story of the PVCU (Pan-India Cinematic Universe). While the makers won’t reveal whether he will essay a hero or villain, they assured that his role will inject intrigue and complexity into the cinematic universe they are creating. The source revealed that, “All we can reveal is that his role will add intrigue and depth to the growing PVCU universe. His role will span across multiple films in the franchise and will prove to be an exciting addition. We’re hoping Mahakali is received as well as HanuMan was.”

Following the blockbuster reception to HanuMan, which was from the same cinematic universe, things are of course sky-high with Mahakali too. The producers are indeed looking to extend the universe with high-impact characters and plotlines.
