Indian music composer and singer Amit Trivedi recently expressed his views on international artists performing in India. In an interview with India Today, he stated that global musicians, including Ed Sheeran and Coldplay, hold concerts in the country purely for business purpos+es.
Amit Trivedi Takes A Dig At Concerts
Amit Trivedi highlighted that international artists are well aware of India’s massive market and high audience engagement. He remarked, “They have understood that the population is high and there’s a big market here. They are very smart, they know the game well. They go where the money is. Unko koi lena dena nahi humse. Woh dhanda kar rahe hai bhaiyya (They have nothing to do with us. They are solely doing business here).”
Amit Trivedi further added, “Whether it’s Ed Sheeran or Dua Lipa, they know India offers a huge market. They are happy in their first-world countries but come here for pure business.”
On Collaborations With Western Artists
When asked if he would consider collaborating with international artists for Azaad Collab 2, Amit responded candidly. “They will happily collaborate because it benefits their business. If it benefits me too, then I’ll consider it.”
Amit Trivedi recently launched Azaad Collab, a music project featuring 22 Indian artists, including Armaan Malik, Jubin Nautiyal, Nikhita Gandhi, Javed Ali, and Neha Kakkar.
