Chhaava has amazed both movie experts and viewers with how well it is doing at the box office.
Vicky Kaushal’s latest movie Chhaava has performed really well since it was released in theatres. The film has surprised both experts and viewers with its strong box office earnings.
It made ₹31 crore on its opening day, ₹219.25 crore in the first week, ₹180.25 crore in the second week, and ₹84.05 crore in the third week.
Chhaava earned ₹8.75 crore on its fourth Friday, ₹16.75 crore on its fourth Saturday, and about ₹11.5 crore on its fourth Sunday.
The Hindi version of the film made a total of ₹512.3 crore, while the Telugu version earned ₹8.25 crore. This brings the total earnings to ₹520.55 crore after 24 days in theaters.
With this achievement, Chhaava has become the first Hindi movie of 2025 to earn over ₹500 crore. On Sunday, the film had an average occupancy rate of 18.90% at theaters, even though there was a big cricket match between India and New Zealand for the Champions Trophy 2025 final.
The occupancy rates for different showtimes were as follows: morning shows had 19.60% occupancy, afternoon shows had 23.26%, evening shows had 20.09%, and night shows had 12.65%.
The film’s box office earnings are expected to grow even more because of the Women’s Day holiday and the Holi period. Experts believe the film could earn around ₹550 crore in total. Worldwide, the film has already crossed ₹700 crore.
Vicky Kaushal thanked his fans on social media, saying: “Thank you for your immense love.” Chhaava is now Vicky Kaushal’s highest-earning film, surpassing his previous hits like Uri: The Surgical Strike (₹244.14 crore), Raazi (₹123.74 crore), Sam Bahadur (₹93.95 crore), and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (₹88.35 crore).
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava tells the story of Hindu king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his brutal death at the hands of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
The movie features Vicky Kaushal along with Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in important roles.
