Diljit Dosanjh Quashes Border 2 Exit Rumours With One Savage Reel | WATCH

Amid rising backlash over his film Sardaar Ji 3 and association with Hania Aamir, Diljit Dosanjh has confirmed he is still part of Border 2.

Diljit Dosanjh has been under fire ever since the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 dropped, due to his collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Amid backlash from netizens and film bodies, including calls to ban all his upcoming projects in India, rumors swirled that Diljit might be dropped from Border 2.

However, the singer-actor has now put an end to all speculation with a bold statement made not through words, but through a reel.

In his recent Instagram post, Diljit posted a BTS video where he is seen stepping out of his vanity van, flaunting army badges with his name stitched on them. He simply wrote, ‘Border 2’ in the caption and included the iconic patriotic anthem Sandese Aate Hain from the original Border film confirming his continued involvement.

Border 2 stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty alongside Diljit. The ensemble cast also includes Suniel Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Sonam Bajwa, Vinali Bhatnagar, Paramvir Cheema, Nishan Singh, Guneet Sandhu, Mouni Roy, and Sai Dibyajyoti Behera.

Diljit has faced backlash for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. Due to the controversy and political tensions, the film was not released in India and premiered only overseas.

The backlash comes amid the tensions between India and Pakistan post the Pahalgam attack. Even though the makers clarified that they shot Sardaar Ji 3 with Hania before the Pahalgam attack, both Diljit and the filmmakers have been receiving backlash.

The film was released overseas on June 27, but its release in India remains on hold, according to reports. While Diljit shared the trailer on Instagram, it appears to be geo-blocked on YouTube for viewers in India.

All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) wrote a strongly worded letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for immediate and stringent action against Diljit. It further urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification to all of Diljit’s future film projects. The association warned of legal action against any production house or individual who chooses to work with the actor moving forward.

The Original Kaanta Laga Girl: ‘It Was My Good Fortune That The Big Hit Song Came To Me’

Ashaji recalls Kaanta laga as an upbeat folk dance number  composed by Rahul Dev Burman. “It was peppy and catchy. We were all humming the  song when shooting it. But did I think it would become such a rage in retrospect? No! Success on that level cannot be predicted by anyone. I remember the song Maar diya jaye ke chhor diya jaye in my film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. That too became such craze, although Lataji’s other  songs  in the film were also outstanding.”
