Harshvardhan Refuses To Work With Mawra Hocane In Sequel
The controversy started after Harshvardhan made an announcement on Instagram that he would not return for Sanam Teri Kasam 2 if Mawra Hocane will be the part of the project. This decision came after Mawra Hocane referred India’s Airstrike ‘Operation Sindoor’ as ‘Unjustified cowardly attack’. These strikes were launch to target the terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on 22 April.
Mawra Slams Harshvardhan’s Decision As ‘PR Strategy’
In response to Harshvardhan’s statement, Mawra took a very sharp dig at him calling his remarks a ‘PR strategy’. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Someone I expected to have basic common sense has risen from deep slumber with a PR strategy… While our nations are at war, this is what you come up with? A PR statement to get attention? What a pity!”
Harshvardhan Rane Reacts To The Statement
Mawra’s PR strategy statement went viral with gaining mixed reactions from netizens. However, later, Harshvardhan responded to this also through his Instagram stories. He wrote: “That sounded like an attempt at a personal attack. Fortunately, I have tolerance to overlook such attempts—but have zero tolerance for any attack on my nation’s dignity.”
He further added: “An Indian farmer would pluck out the unwanted weed from his crop- it’s called weeding. The farmer doesn’t need a PR team for this act, it’s called common sense. I simply offered to step down from Part 2. I am fully within my rights to choose not to work with individuals who label my country’s actions as ‘cowardly’.”
While Mawra’s remarks were so sharp, Harshvardhan maintained a respectful tone and choose not to engage in any personal attacks. “So much hate in her speech, so many personal remarks. I never mentioned her name or resorted to calling her names. Didn’t attack her dignity as a woman. I intend to maintain that standard.”

Sanam Teri Kasam had been a hit and gained a loyal fanbase after its 2025 re-release. However, in the current political climate, collaborations between Indian and Pakistani artists are under scrutiny.
