Marvel Studios has brought back Huge Jackman as Wolverine, not in a high octane action sequence but in an 8.5 hour ambient video which is titled as “Wolverine Breathing Exercise | Marvel Ambiance | Deadpool & Wolverine.” The video features Jackman doing what the title promises, breathing, brooding and occasionally striking different poses. The unexpected content drop is Marvel’s quirky way of celebrating National Stress Awareness Month.
The Breathing Video
The video, live now on Marvel’s official YouTube channel, is eight hours and 30 minutes of unadulterated ambiance with Hugh Jackman fully dressed as Wolverine. Throughout the clip, Jackman remains immobile, deep breaths him in and out, and radiates intensity and does it all without speaking a word. At the four-hour mark, he gives a nod to classic Wolverine pose, with his claws extended.
What Does This Mean For The MCU?
Although the video itself doesn’t settle any of the big plot points, it comes at a time when word continues to buzz about Deadpool & Wolverine. The movie, now streaming on Disney+, represents Jackman’s long-awaited return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and with Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars in the wings, fans can’t wait to know how Logan ties into the multiverse craziness.
Some fans are guessing the breathing video could be a cryptic teaser for something larger that is coming for the audience but based on timing and its tone it is more likely a lighthearted marketing tool meant to take advantage of Jackman’s huge fan base to spread awareness of stress management.
