Jana Nayagan, the highly anticipated movie starring Tamil superstar Vijay who is also popularly known as Thalapathy is all set for a release on January 9, 2026. Directed by H Vinoth and produced by KVN production, this film is one of the most awaited release of 2026 as it is said to be Vijay’s last movie before he enters politics. The movie is an adaptation of a Telegu film Bhagavanth Kesari which was released in the year 2023.
When And Where To Watch?
According to the movie crow, After its big screen release, Jana Nayagan will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from early March 2026 onwards. The film’s OTT rights were sold for a record Rs. 105 Crores making it one of the biggest deals for an Indian film’s digital distribution.

What To Expect From Jana Nayagan?
The movie is a political thriller starring Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Baiju, Monisha Blessy and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Earlier this year, Vijay had also announced to contest the 2026 elections of Tamil Nadu with his newly formed party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. According to media reports, Vijay shared his vision on this and said “I am aiming for a corruption-free, progressive, and secular government, considering the current political climate that divides people by religion and caste, with corruption rampant everywhere.”
