Notably, Content creator and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has moved to the Apex Court on Friday following multiple FIRs against him in various states in the last week over his controversial comment that he made at comedian Samay Raina’s show “India’s Got Latent.” The YouTuber seeks the intervention of the Supreme Court of India for clubbing the multiple FIRs filed against him.

Outrage from different parts of India came against Allahabadia after he made an objectionable comment about parents while talking to a contestant. The video clip goes viral and fuels the internet. Following the outrage, comedian Raina also pulled down all of his India Got Latent videos, which he had been uploading for the past year. The videos have millions of views.

Abhinav Chandrachud, son of former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court on behalf of Allahbadia for clubbing the registered FIRs. He also sought anticipatory bail and requested an early hearing, which was mentioned before CJI Sanjiv Khanna. However, the early hearing was declined, stating that a date has already been registered for the case. His legal team was also advised to approach the court registry for further details.

In India’s Got Latent show, the YouTuber said, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” while talking to a contestant. Later, FIRs were registered against comedian Raina and Allahbadia at local police stations in Guwahati and Assam for obscenity and crass remarks.

A day after the outrage, Allahbadia apologised in his Instagram post while saying that comedy is not his forte. Days later, Raina also said in a post that “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
