Sriram stated, “Many years back, I narrated the basic idea of ‘Merry Christmas’ to Varun Dhawan. He was too busy back then, and I cast him in ‘Ekkees,’ so I started looking out for other actors. I didn’t want to repeat actors specifically for ‘Merry Christmas.'”

‘Merry Christmas’ is Sriram Raghavan’s latest directorial venture since the success of his 2018 thriller film ‘Andhadhun.’ The film features a star-studded cast including Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Radhika Apte. Notably, the movie was filmed in both Hindi and Tamil languages, with distinct supporting casts for each version of the narrative. This bilingual approach adds a unique dimension to the storytelling, catering to audiences in both language regions.

In the Hindi version of “Merry Christmas,” the cast includes Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kazmi, and Tinnu Anand. On the other hand, the Tamil language version features Radhika Sarathkumar, Gayathrie, and Shanmugaran. Originally slated for a December release, the film’s premiere was rescheduled to January 12, 2024.
