Just days after the premiere of The Traitors India on Amazon Prime Video, tensions have sparked between contestants Apoorva Mukhija and Uorfi Javed. Recently Apoorva dropped an emotional vlog on YouTube narrating her alleged off camera spat with Uorfi Javed from The Traitors India.
According to Apoorva, Uorfi confronted her insensitively during a vulnerable moment, which led to a heated verbal exchange in front of fellow contestants. Apoorva claimed she was humiliated and demeaned, alleging that Uorfi yelled phrases like “Tere aukaat nahi hai mujhse baat karne ki” and “Main tumhare level pe hoon kya?”
Now, Uorfi has broken her silence. In a series of Instagram Stories, she shared a screenshot of a chat with Apoorva and wrote:
“Everything is planned guys:) we have literally spoken after that incident. Thsi was all planned her story time, the fact that she is exaggeting it so much and making me look bad is what I hate .:)
1 day before when Jannat was crying for her parents told me ‘I don’t understand how can you cry for your parents at this age, main you bahot khush hu parents se door reh k’ Also when I went to her to console her, infront of the cast and crew she goes like ‘behench* d jaa na yaha se ‘I felt extremely disrespected. In the series of Instagram stories, she further posted a video where she said she was “shivering” after watching Apoorva’s YouTube video. “I literally don’t want to do any of this but it’s just I am, I am feeling pathetic right now after seeing Apoorva’s YouTube video. She is painting me into this villain which I am not, I am literally shivering right now. I mean, I will tell you something—what happened one day before, Jannat was crying and for her parents. Tabhi Apoorva mujhse bolti hai ki arre kya parents ke liye ro rahi hai? Kya ye paagalpanti hai.”
According to Uorfi, things came to a head when she attempted to comfort Apoorva and was told, “Then next day when she started crying, whatever, I went to her nicely ki kya hua hai, batao. I will tell you guys one thing. It’s an insecurity of me—disrespect. I have been disrespected so much on the internet for years. Mere andar ek insecurity si paida ho gayi hai. Matlab mujhe bada ajeeb sa lagta hai ki main respect demand karti hoon kyunki mujhe mili hi nahi hai bahut saalon tak mentally. So just a big insecurity for me. And when she shouted at me, she abused me, snapped at me.”
She concluded by admitting that while she doesn’t usually let online hate affect her, this situation feels different, “When she shouted at me ki ja yahan se, snapped at me like that and I just felt, I don’t know, like I felt really disrespected and of course it was my ego. Meri ego ki wajah se jo hua, whatever I spoke and matlab maybe I shouldn’t have said those words but I do demand respect and it’s an insecurity. That’s it. I don’t really care and I don’t know why is it affecting me so much. Hate on the internet has never really affected me but for some reason it’s just, I don’t know what’s happening.”
