New Delhi: The trailer and audio launch event of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan took place in Chennai yesterday. The event was attended by prominent personalities from the industry. South megastar Rajnikant was the chief guest along with Kamal Hassan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who will be seen playing the role of Nandhini also graced the event.
Aishwarya looked beautiful as usual in a black and silver ensemble. Apart from all the glitzy personalities and extravaganzas, what caught the netizens’ eyes was when Aishwarya touched Rajnikant’s feet and hugged him as a greeting. It is to be mentioned that, in Ponniyin Selvan, Aishwarya will be seen in dual roles. She will play queen Nandini, the princess of Pazhuvoor, who is on a mission to seek vengeance, as well as Mandakini Devi. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ will come in two parts. This is the first part of the film. According to media reports, the budget for this film is around Rs 500 crore. Significantly, many veteran stars are seen together in the film. South superstars including Chiyan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha are seen, while Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai is also seen with them.
