Salman Khan Goes Through A Tough Four Hours Training For His Next Film About Galwan Valley Clash: Report

Salman Khan begins specialised fitness training to play the role of late Colonel Santosh Babu in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming film based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan had begun his special fitness training to prepare for his upcoming film. The project is likely to be inspired by the Indo-China Galwan Valley confrontation of June 2020. Apoorva Lakhia will be the director of this film. After the underwhelming performance of Sikandar, Salman is reportedly putting all his attention and efforts into making this new movie successful.

According to the report by Mid-Day, Salman Khan will also be acting as the late Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu. For the uninformed, Colonel Babu was the fearless officer of the 16 Bihar regiment and died in the fight at Gallant Valley. In order to give complete justice to this role, Salman started physical training early this month.

Salman is currently concentrating on general fitness and high-altitude training as well. A Mid-Day source said, “Salman has refurbished his two gyms — a sprawling one at his Khandala farmhouse and a smaller one at his Bandra apartment — to suit the current requirements. He trains for four hours daily and is undergoing circuit training focusing on different muscle groups. The exercises are designed to build strength, endurance, and cardiovascular improvement, the latter being important for high-altitude travellers.”

The actor is also gearing his body up to cope with high-altitude environments as the film will be filmed primarily in Ladakh. The source also added, “The training includes periodically exposing the body to higher altitudes, thus giving it time to adjust to the lower oxygen level. Oxygen saturation level can be achieved at home through altitude simulation tents, chambers, or hypoxic masks. Salman may join an altitude training studio because, at 59, he needs to be fighting fit to shoot combat sequences in Ladakh.”
