The Met Gala 2025 which is held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York was expected to showcase Indian representation in all its glory. With many known Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani, Diljit Dosanjh and Priyanka Chopra attending the auspicious event. However, despite the bigger hopes and best representation many Indian fans are disappointed as it seems that the foreign media has failed to give expected recognition to the Bollywood icons.
SRK’s Uncomfortable Red Carpet Encounter
A clip is getting viral from Vogue’s red carpet coverage. The video seems highlighting the awkwardness among the interviewers when Shah Rukh Khan was interviewed. There were two interviewers who looked very unprepared and struggled to even identify the designer of SRK’s outfit, Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
One of the interviewer was seen asking, “And this is the designer tonight?”- a moment that caused discomfort for both Shah Rukh and Sabyasachi. The awkwardness of the situation escalated when designer Sabyasachi took over the mic to explain SRK’s global fame. He said, “Shah Rukh Khan is probably one of the most famous men in the world, and his fan following is legendary.”

Netizens Express Their Disappointment
After the video went viral, fans took to social media to express their anger and disappointment regarding the behaviour of the interviewers. A Reddit thread titled “Hope SRK and other stars don’t go to these international events…”.
Many of the fans were also criticising the foreign media’s lack of research. Netizens commented like, “It’s quite embarrassing to see them in such a vulnerable state,” and “People working at these events should do basic research,” to show their disappointment.
