Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore has recently expressed her concern over the reported decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to retire the Pataudi Trophy. The trophy was introduced in 2007 to honour the first Test match between India and England in 1932.
While there is no official confirmation received yet, this move has already created buzz over the social media.
Sharmila Tagore Confirms ECB’s Letter to Saif Ali Khan
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Sharmila Tagore revealed that Saif Ali Khan has recently received an official letter from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regarding the retirement of the trophy. Sharmila said, “I haven’t heard from them, but the ECB has sent a letter to Saif stating that they are retiring the trophy. If the BCCI wants to or does not want to remember Tiger’s legacy, it is for them to decide,”.
This statement of her looks like the decision is on the cards but still there is no official confirmation from the board.
