Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has successfully captivated its audience for more than ten years. Nevertheless, the show and its creators have recently faced scrutiny. Viewers have expressed prolonged disappointment due to the absence of their beloved character, Dayaben, to the extent that the hashtag ‘Boycott TMKOC’ has gained traction on social media. However, Asit Kumarr Modi has now addressed the speculation regarding Dayaben’s potential return to the show.
Asit Modi, in a short video shared on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s official Instagram, reassured fans that Dayaben would soon return to Gokuldham Society. He said “Hum Daya Bhabhi ko Jald se Jald Gokuldham Society mein wapas le kar aayenge. Kuch paristhithi aisi bani ki hum Daya Bhabhi ko iss Deepavali ke avsar par Gokuldham society mein nahi la paaye. Bas ab kuch dino ki baat hai Daya Bhabhi Jald Aayengi”.

Explaining the delay, he mentioned circumstances preventing her return for Diwali but promised her comeback in a matter of days. Disha Vakani, who played Daya Jethalal Gada, popularly known as Dayaben, in the hit show, took an indefinite maternity leave in 2017 and has not returned since. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was created and produced by Asit Kumarr Modi under his production company ‘Neela Film Productions Private Limited’. The show celebrated its 15th anniversary in July 2023.
