Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia who is known for directing films like Paan Singh Tomar, Haasil and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns has recently revealed that the passing of actor Irrfan Khan has deeply affected his writing processes.
In a ANI recent interview, he shared that he now struggles to write complex characters and scenes as he feels today’s actors may not be able to perform them perfectly.
‘I Could Spread My Wings With Irrfan’
Tigmanshu reflected on how Irrfan’s presence in his films allowed him to experiment with different standard story telling. He said: “If he was in the film, I could spread my wings further. I could write an intricate scene knowing that it would be performed by Irrfan. I could make the character and situation more complex, which I can’t now”.
He clarified that it is not a case of writer’s block but rather a limitation imposed on him by absence of an actor Irrfan Khan . He revealed: “You know you can write a scene, but the actors won’t be able to do it”
