Days after actor Srikanth’s arrest in a narcotics case, another name has emerged from the Tamil film industry actor Krishna, was reportedly absconding. His name has also been found to be linked to the same case. The actor is currently in police custody.
According to a report by News 18, the police questioned Krishna for more than 17 hours, examining his bank transactions, call details and his possible links with a person associated with the AIADMK party. Krishna’s name reportedly came to light after the arrest of drug supplier Pradeep, who claimed that he had supplied the drugs to a person who was previously a member of the IT wing of the AIADMK.
Who Is Krishna?
Not many are aware that Krishna comes from a prestigious film family. His father K.K. Shekhar is a senior producer in Tamil cinema, and his brother Vishnuvardhan is the director of superhit films like ‘Billa’ and ‘Arambham’. Krishna started his film career as a child artist in Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Anjali’ (1990). He then appeared in films like ‘Iruvar’ and ‘The Terrorist’. After doing his MBA and working for a while in the corporate sector in the US, he made a comeback to acting in his father’s film ‘Alibaba’ in 2008.
He then gave stellar performances in films like ‘Kazhugu’, ‘Yaamirukka Bayamey’, ‘Vanavarayan Vallavarayan’, ‘Pandigai’, ‘Vizhithiru’ and ‘Yakkai’. His performances in ‘Maari 2’ and ‘Kazhugu 2’ gave him a strong identity in Tamil cinema. He was supposed to debut with the Malayalam film ‘Picasso’, but the future of that film is in limbo due to the ongoing investigation.

His personal life has also been in the news. He got divorced in 2014, and according to reports, he married his old friend Sadhviya in a private ceremony in June 2025.
Srikanth was arrested on the basis of Pradeep’s testimony and the investigation gained momentum, which later reached Krishna. He is also accused of trying to flee to Kerala, but four special teams caught and took him into custody. During interrogation, the police deeply investigated his financial records and contacts.
The investigation took a new turn when another accused, drug supplier Prashanth, revealed that Srikanth had bought cocaine for Rs 12,000 during the shooting of the film ‘Theingarai’. Prashanth also revealed that Srikanth and Krishna had consumed drugs together during several parties in Chennai. This statement is being considered as a crucial evidence in the case.
