Parliamentarian Jawhar Sircar, Hannan Mollah, Subhashini Ali, former Civil servants Abhijit Sen Gupta, and Aditi Mehta are among the signatories.

Earlier on May 28, top wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malikkh and other grapplers who tried to head towards the new Parliament building in the national capital were detained on Sunday citing security reasons.

As they were being dragged and shoved into the vans, the grapplers said they did not know where they were being taken to. Bajrang Punia accused the Delhi Police and said the latter did what they could instead of arresting WFI chief and BJP chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The wrestlers held the protest against the WFI chief alleging that Brij Bhushan sexually assaulted female coaches and athletes.

The Police said the protestors violated the law and order as Section 144 was imposed there.
