In a tragic incident, a three-year-old succumbed to a rabid dog bite in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district. The incident took place in the Nagla Nathlu village under the Charra police station.
3-year-old died after 45 days
According to PTI, ten other children were also attacked by the same dog but they did not receive any treatment. The deceased, Anshu, died after 45 days of the dog attack at a private hospital near his village.
Anshu started showing symptoms
According to the family members of Anshu, he started showing symptoms of fear of water (Hydrophobia) a few days before his death.
A team of health officials visited the village on April 11 to check on other children who had not taken any treatment after being attacked by the same rabid dog.
Precautionary measures have been taken
The Chief Medical Officer, Aligarh, said all precautionary measures have been taken like the administration of anti-rabies vaccine. He said the hospital administration has taken the matter seriously, and a campaign has been launched.
But, the CMO did not confirm the cause behind the death of Anshu. He said the canine was killed after the incident, and they could not conduct any test on the dog. They also failed to diagnose the deceased before his death.
