An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan in the early hours on Wednesday, and the tremors were felt in parts of India, including the Delhi-NCR region, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS),

As per NCS, the seismic event occurred at a depth of 75 km. A 5.9 magnitude is substantial enough to cause severe damage, especially in close proximity to the epicentre. At this point, there have been no reports of any injuries or damage.
Within moments of the earthquake, social media became inundated with earthquake-related messages as people across Delhi and surrounding areas described their experiences with the earthquake.
